3D ATLAS

Combining the information expected from a traditional printed atlas with the exciting delivery offered by today's multimedia technology, 3D ATLAS is a geographical reference work for the classroom or the home. Virtual globes show the Political, Physical and Environmental World from any viewpoint down to breathtaking 4km detail. Satellite observations provide time sequences of the Earth's weather, volcanic eruptions and environmental changes. High-resolution satellite images allow the user to explore cities and landscapes in 2D or 3D. Rivers, coastlines and terrain are derived from the latest digital map data. Derivative CDROM titles in the ABC World Reference series include WIDE WORLD OF ANIMALS and ABC NEWSLINKS.

3D ATLAS was published by Electronic Arts/Creative Wonders and produced by The MultiMedia Corporation. Geographical data were provided by Planetary Visions and University College London. Over 2 million copies shipped.
