IC 423 (lower right) and IC 426 (upper left) lie east of the bright blue star Mintaka, the western star of Orion's three Belt Stars. The nebulae are only visible due to the light they reflect from Mintaka. Mintaka's blue glare can be seen towards the right of the image.
