The breakdown of ozone takes place in the cold conditions above both poles, but the atmospheric circulation over the North Pole is more complex than in Antarctica, leading to more mixing of air bodies and so a less pronounced ozone depletion. This sequence shows ozone data for the Northern spring (March-May).
