Death Valley

Several 3D graphic sequences help explain the geography and geological history of Death Valley, the lowest point in North America. Our global Satellite Imagemap sets the scene, while high-resolution Landsat imagery is combined with digital terrain data to present detailed views of the area. Dynamic time-sequences show tectonic movements in the region and simulate the formation of glacial meltwater lakes at the end of the last ice age.

DEATH VALLEY is a documentary television programme produced in HDTV by UFA for the Discovery Channel and NHK. Planetary Visions provided ten 3D graphics sequences in widescreen format.
