Satellite Imagemap is squeezed onto a single disc for one of the world's first DVDROM reference titles. As well as pre-rendered movies showing each of the continents, the user can define his or her own flightpath or fly the flight simulator in real-time across the whole of the Earth's surface. Major physical features such as rivers and mountain ranges are labelled live as they come into view.
The Kosmos Weltatlas, the German language version of the DK World Atlas DVD was awarded the first ever Milia d'Or for Best DVD at the annual Milia festival in Cannes, the multimedia industry's equivalent of the Palme d'Or.
